What it means for you
An annotation is how a personal right is made visible to everyone. It is the mechanism behind a registered promise-to-sell, a lease annotation or a purchase option — and it is also where you find out that someone else has a claim on the property you are about to buy.
Commonly confused with
An annotation is not the same as a mortgage (ipotek). A mortgage secures a debt against the property; an annotation gives notice of a right or restriction.
