Ödeme emri

Payment order

Pronounced: eu-DEH-meh em-REE

The official document an Enforcement Office serves on a debtor to start collection — and it starts a short clock to object.

What it means for you

If a payment order reaches you, the deadline to object is short and counted from the date of service, not the date you read it. Missing it can make the debt enforceable against you even if you dispute it. This is one of the documents where getting advice within days genuinely matters.

Commonly confused with

It is not a court summons and not a demand letter from the other side's lawyer. It comes from the state Enforcement Office and carries its own deadline.
